Early polling results in Uganda’s presidential election have led to violent protests in the streets of the capital. Police are using tear gas against demonstrators who are outraged over results showing incumbent president Yoweri Museveni leading a presidential ballot. The election has been marred by voting delays, an internet shutdown, and opposition claims of ballot stuffing. Museveni has been in power for 40 years and is seeking to extend his rule.

Al Jazeera’s Catherine Soi reports from Kampala.
