The French overloads of melodic gothic rock Corpus Delicti re-enforced their return to the music scene after a 23 hiatus with the release of their triumphant new album Liminal in November 2025. And now they confirm their live return to the UK with a tour starting this month which is bound to once again push the boundaries of their rejuvenation.

Corpus Delicti formed in Nice in 1992 and made an immediate impact with their own brand of melodic, hard-hitting post-punk rock with their 1993 debut album Twilight. Their subsequent albums continued to garner huge critical acclaim for a band who at that time were lauded by many as one of the world’s leading gothic rock acts. The band finally disbanded in 1997, two years on from their last full length album Obsessions, but this didn’t in any way stop their cult following continuing to grow as their legacy left a lasting mark.

Interest in Corpus Delicti was reignited in 2019 when Cleopatra Records signed the band for a series of reissues, introducing Corpus Delicti to a new generation of listeners. Both their relevance and endurance came shining through as they notched up huge streaming figures which have continued to exceed two million listens per year. At this time the original quartet resumed rehearsals with the aim of returning to the stage. Unfortunately, the pandemic immediately put things on hold and it also transpired that original drummer Roma had to drop out due to health issues.

Fabrice Gouré was then recruited to the ranks as drummer and, together with original members Sébastien Pietrapiana on vocals, Franck Amendola on guitar and Christophe Baudrion on bass, their long-anticipated reunion took shape in 2022, with sold-out shows from Cannes to Mexico City confirming once again that their popularity had not waned in any way at all.

Finally in November 2025, Corpus Delicti released a new album, Liminal, their first for 30 years since the release of Obsessions in 1995. This album proved to be a triumphant return, with the band producing a majestic sound honed by a fusion of the gothic power of Bauhaus, the thunderous rhythms of Killing Joke, the artistry of Bowie and the anthemic vibes of Gary Numan. The album was preceded by the single Room 36 featuring a collaboration with contemporary artist Jean-Luc Verna, whose artwork also adorns the album cover. Verna appears in the accompanying video, creating a striking visual dialogue between contemporary art and dark, avant-garde aesthetics.

A Plea From Louder Than War

Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.

To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
