Lucas Fox was the drummer and founder member of Motorhead, a band which he formed with his mate Lemmy in 1975. In this interview, he talks about those early days and the pre-punk London and Notting Hill underground of mavericks and crazies that were the bridge between the sixties freak scene and the late seventies punk explosion.
In a long and varied career, he also played with and drummed with Warsaw Pakt, The Sceinetist and then Andrew Eldritch’s The Sisterhood, the band the Sisters’ enigmatic singer had put together to foil Wayne Hussey when he left the mothership.
The book has been released in French and is soon to be released in English and is a fascinating trawl through almost the world of leather jacket all-nighters, bikes, booze and wild times that somehow sparked one of the greatest rock n roll bands of all time, Motorhead. The Ladbroke Grove trio’s supercharged concerts quickly earned them cult status, which Metallica, Iron Maiden and so many more still proclaim as being one of their dominant influences.
