Plymouth Argyle midfielder Brendan Wiredu will be out for four weeks after having abdominal surgery.

“He’s putting himself through everything,” head coach Tom Cleverley said.

“He can perform to a certain level, it’s just that top-end explosive movements that are causing him real pain.

“It’s a fairly straightforward abdominal procedure that he’ll have that will put him out for four weeks.”

The club have recalled Caleb Roberts from his loan spell at National League club Truro City to cover the position.
