J.P. MorganMajor banking firm J.P. Morgan has submitted a large planning application for a new five‑storey office building and a multi‑storey car park.
The proposals are for its existing Chaseside campus in Bournemouth, which currently employs about 5,300 people, making it one of the area’s largest private‑sector employers.
The new building would provide 200,000 sq ft (60,960 sq m) of purpose‑built office space for about 1,600 staff.
According to the application documents, the ground floor would include food and drink facilities for employees and flexible spaces for training or larger auditorium events.
J.P. MorganThe project includes a two‑storey decked parking structure on part of the existing surface car park.
Staff parking is currently located mainly on the south‑western side of the site beneath a large solar panel array, with separate contractor and visitor parking elsewhere on campus.
The scheme also features new landscaping designed to improve accessibility and create better connections to transport links across the site.
J.P. MorganThe Chaseside campus is set within a wooded landscape with internal roads, footpaths, cycle routes and outdoor facilities including tennis courts and parkland.
It sits in the north‑east of Bournemouth, next to Littledown Park and bordered by the A338 Wessex Way.
It is home to several notable buildings, including Littledown House and Littledown Lodge, which are both Grade II listed.
If approved, the new office would be built on the cleared so-called Wiltshire plot, which previously housed temporary buildings.
The application explains that the additional workspace is needed to move staff from other offices in the town and to allow more flexibility for future upgrades across the campus.
