Plymouth Argyle boss Tom Cleverley said defender Kornel Szucs is in his plans, despite his lack of game time.
The 24-year-old Hungary international has made just 11 League One starts this season and has not been in the first 11 since the 3-0 home loss to Northampton Town on 29 November.
In contrast, he started 31 games for the Pilgrims in the Championship last season.
Cleverley sees the defender as a full-back – rather than a centre-back where he played much of last season – and in competition with captain Joe Edwards for the right-back position.
“I like Kornel, I like his attributes,” Cleverley said.
“I personally see Kornel as full-back, and when you’re competing with the captain who’s in very good form, it’s tough.
“Kornel’s got an excellent attitude, he shows to me every day he wants to improve and he wants to be there when called up on.
“There’s a lot about Kornel that I like and we work on the areas that I think he can improve at.
“Like anyone else, he’s given the same platform as anyone to get in this team. Right now it’s probably more how well the guys in his area of the pitch are playing.”
