Brum newcomers Housework hit the track running with Triple Denim, a two minute barrage of anthemic Indie Rock, making a claim for The Cribs crown in one foul swoop reckons Wayne AF Carey…

Hailing from the heartlands of grey Britain, Housework is a band of mates who should have given up a long time ago.

As the name suggests, their inspirations are rooted in the mundanity of the everyday, but their music cuts through the daily grind.

Triple Denim’ is their first physical release, taken from the album The Strawberry Tapes. Released on strictly limited (100 copies!) on clear, lathe cut 7″ vinyl.

Tracked live, the song tackles bad habits with tongue firmly in cheek. Over and out in two minutes, the way it should be!

It’s a fast and furious two minute melodic riot starting with feedback before melding into an excellent piece of raucous harmony that ends abruptly, just as we like it. Catchy as fuck. And the B-sides have enough muscle to make you want to go out buy it. If you’re fast enough!

A Plea From Louder Than War

Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.

To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
