Manchester’s rising stars Rosellas preview their forthcoming EP with new single Beautiful Lonely as well as confirming details of their biggest UK headline tour to date. Beautiful Lonely is yet another classic guitar based anthem which undoubtedly sets the tone for what is to come in the future from this talented quartet.
2025 heralded a major step forward for Rosellas when they signed a new multi-EP record deal with Glasgow-based, forward thinking and artist-led label First Run Records. They wasted little time in celebrating this new era by releasing a five track EP, Every Beautiful Night, in August 2025, a collection of songs which perfectly showcases their very own brand of pop-infused indie rock drawing on classic influences from the 80s and 90s but with a classic modern-day twist.
The momentum now continues with the announcement of a new EP, Shadow Dancing, due to be released on 13 May as well as confirming their biggest UK headline tour to date. And before all this happens Rosellas now preview their forthcoming EP with new single Beautiful Lonely.
Beautiful Lonely opens with a burst of shimmering guitars and driving energy that have long since become synonymous with Rosellas’ sound. And as a song consumed with heartfelt lyricism and strong melodies, the pace rarely lets up, with Drew Selby’s bright, effortless and yet passionate vocal delivery providing a strong challenge to us all to look inwardly at how we perceive ourselves and others as he sings, “There must be something more to life, than what we’re living for.” It’s full of classic hooks, blinding guitar solos and a joyous uplifting spirit which undoubtedly sets the tone of what will follow in their forthcoming EP.
The band explain the inspiration behind the song as follows: “Beautiful Lonely is a song about looking for answers, both in other people and within yourself. We thought the mirror imagery was a nice way to show how people present different versions of themselves and how there can be a difference between the versions of ourselves that we present to the world, & that version of ourselves we are, when we’re alone (i.e. when we look in the mirror). It has that fairy tale feeling of ‘mirror, mirror on the wall…’ which we really like and relate to.”
Rosellas are now a fully formed quartet with Drew Selby on vocals and guitar, Euan Mail on guitar, Ollie Appleby on bass and Mark Zanker on drums. This is a band who have developed over the years as a tight unit and who have continued to expand their sonic horizons in terms of both their songwriting and live performances. And when seeing them live it doesn’t take long to appreciate their commitment and dedication towards bringing guitar based music back to the very forefront of the music scene in the 21st century.

A Plea From Louder Than War
Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.
To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
