Spoon Speaker Man: Tunnel Vision: Tunnel Vision
(Big Pond Records)
DL/Streaming
Released 27th February
Spoon Speaker Man, the electrifying musical collaboration formed by Craig Walker and Dan Worton, release Tunnel Vision ahead of a short UK Tour.
Walker, singer, songwriter and guitarist of the iconic Dublin band Power Of Dreams and Worton, drummer with Stourbridge’s finest, Neds Atomic Dustbin, have been friends for more than 30 years. The pair first crossed paths in 1991 during extensive tours with their aforementioned bands and remained firm friends ever since through their shared passion for music.
Their well-received album The Age Of No Opinion arrived in the Autumn of 2024 and a tour was planned for the same time however due to matters beyond their control had to hold back until now.
The French edition of Rolling Stone has dubbed them ‘un véritable super groupe’ and who are we to argue with our gallic neighbours, as it certainly fits as their number also includes, guitarist Jason Brown (Tom Hingley & The Lovers / Brix & The Extricated), drummer Peter Huntington (The Who) and Dan’s wife Kerry who contributes both guitar and backing vocals (as well as being featured on the album)
To mark the occasion the band have collaborated across the Atlantic to record a new single, Tunnel Vision, a critique on the modern phenomenon of idolising online personalities and their peculiar endorsements, highlighting how narcissistic traits can lead to a cult-like following that worships every action and word. Musically it’s dynamic and catchy, infused with punk influences (including just about the acceptable level of Plastic Bertrand’s Ça plane pour moi) and showcasing the powerful vocal interplay between Craig and Kerry.
The tour kicks off amongst the bucket hats of Skegness at the Shiiine On Weekender before taking in Huddersfield, Manchester, London, Coventry and Stourbridge. Spoon Speaker Man will be performing tracks from the album as well as classics from their original bands with possibly some special guests joining in too, making it a must-see event for any Indie music enthusiast. TV Pins will be supporting on all dates.

A Plea From Louder Than War
Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.
To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
