Across the west of England, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day collections will not take place.
Residents have been urged to check their postcode-based collection calendar and to use recycling and food waste collections as much as possible during the festive period.
Below is breakdown of timetable changes for each area.
Bristol
Rubbish and recycling crews will not operate on 25 December, 26 December or 1 January.
Collections due on those days will be rearranged, with some taking place earlier or later in the same week.
Residents are being advised to use the council’s bin finder tool or download their festive collection calendar to check exact dates for their address. Recycling centres will also be closed on bank holidays.
And to keep on top of the extra recycling over Christmas, Bristol Waste has said it will be temporarily loading “mixed recycling into one big truck” instead of separating it out. Bosses wanted to reassure residents that it is still being recycled.
