A second man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a suspicious death in Devon.
A murder investigation was launched after a body was found in Plymouth’s Millbay Marina on Sunday during searches for Drew Perham, who had been reported missing when he failed to return home from a night out on Friday.
Devon and Cornwall Police said while formal identification had not taken place, the family of the 24-year-old from Plymouth had been informed.
The force, who arrested a 19-year-old man from Plymouth on Sunday, said the second man – aged 19 and from Exmouth – had been arrested on Monday. Both remain in custody.
Police have issued an appeal for information, particularly from any witnesses who might have been in the Millbay area between 01:00 and 05:00 GMT on Saturday.
Det Insp Neil Blanchard said the community would continue to see an increased police presence over the coming days.
He said: “The investigation into Drew’s death remains ongoing with a number of inquiries taking place.
“I continue to ask people to avoid speculating about this case – this is an ongoing investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident and online speculation in particular is not helpful.”
The force said a Major Incident Public Portal had been set up to allow people to send large files such as doorbell, CCTV and dashcam footage which could assist in the investigation.
