Cornwall Air Ambulance has launched a Christmas campaign to help keep families safe during the festive period.

The charity has released a film to outline how the service can save people’s lives, especially during Christmas.

It shows a grandmother making a festive dinner with her family whilst she has flashbacks of her husband having a cardiac arrest on the coast path before he is helped by air ambulance crews.

The new campaign is called The Empty Chair, and chief executive of the charity said it was named this because “no-one wants an empty chair at the table this festive season”.

Chief executive Mr Bunting said: “With your support, Cornwall Air Ambulance can be there for patients in their greatest moment of need.

“As a charity we rely on the generosity of the Cornish community to keep our vital service running and ensuring that we can be there for you, your family and loved ones for years to come, if you should ever need us.”

The charity said every donation made before 31 December would be doubled with match funding.
