Labour Conference 2025
Last updated 28/04/2025
With Starmer’s Government now planning disastrous cuts to welfare, it is crucial that the Left is represented at Labour Conference to make the case for transformative policies: from wealth taxes to public ownership. Last year Conference voted to repeal cuts to Winter Fuel Payments and the Leadership was forced to withdraw an anti-migrant motion due to opposition from trade union and CLP delegates. It showed how important it is for socialists and progressive to represent their CLPs at Conference.Â
Conference is scheduled to take place in Liverpool from Sunday 28 September to Wednesday 1 October. Planning is also underway for the Labour Party Women’s Conference, due to take place on Saturday 27 September.Â
Momentum will also be hosting a joint fringe event in collaboration with the Campaign for Labour Party Democracy. More details to follow.

Becoming a delegate
The most important thing you can do to challenge Starmer’s reactionary agenda at Conference is to get elected as a delegate or support other socialists and progressives to do so. If you can do either of those things, please fill in our form.Â
CLPs are entitled to one delegate for the first 749 full members and a further delegate for every additional 250 individual members. At least every second delegate from a CLP has to be a woman, and where only one delegate is appointed this must be a woman at least every second year. In CLPs where there are 100 or more women members, an additional woman delegate may be appointed. In CLPs where there are 30 or more young members, an additional delegate under the age of 27 may be appointed. To be eligible for nomination, delegates must have joined the Labour Party on or before December 2023. No CLP shall be represented by more than 6 delegates in any given year.
CLPs have until midday on 27th June to submit information of the delegates they are sending to Conference.
