Exeter Chiefs full-back Olly Woodburn has signed a new contract at the club.

The 34-year-old has spent over a decade at Sandy Park after joining from Bath before the start of the 2015-16 season.

In his second year at the club, Woodburn helped Chiefs win their first ever Prem title and picked up the club’s player of the year award.

Three seasons later, he picked up a league and cup double, helping his side secure a second Prem title and their first European Champions Cup trophy.

In total, Woodburn has made 196 appearances for the club, scoring 63 tries.

Woodburn remains an important part of director of rugby Rob Baxter’s first-team squad and has made 12 starts this season for Exeter in all competitions.

“He’s won trophies with us and has come back recently from a pretty significant injury and looks just as good as ever,” Baxter told BBC Radio Devon.

“His skillset, under high balls and breaking tackles, is fantastic but he has got a super strength when it comes to scoring tries.

“He’s probably the most lethal finisher from five metres under pressure that we’ve ever seen here.”

Woodburn told Exeter’s website:, external “I’m honoured to have the opportunity to continue my journey here and to keep chasing trophies with such a talented group of players and staff.”

Chiefs have not disclosed the length of Woodburn’s new deal.
