A dog walker received a cut to his chest after being attacked in a park, police have said.
Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to reports of a serious assault in Yealmpstone Park in the Plympton area of Plymouth at about 23:30 GMT on 26 November.
The force said a man who was walking his dog was approached by two unknown men and suffered an injury during an altercation which required hospital treatment. Police said officers were “not sure” what had caused the laceration.
The victim has been discharged from hospital and anyone with information or relevant CCTV footage has been asked to contact investigating officers.
Police said the suspects were white, aged in their late teens to early 20s and made off in the direction of Maddock Close following the altercation.
One of them has been described as a 5ft 9ins (1.75m) tall man of slim-medium build who had mousy brown short back and sides hair and was believed to be wearing a navy blue Adidas tracksuit.
The other suspect has been described as being slightly taller and having a slightly bigger build.
He had darker brown hair, stubble and was wearing jeans, police added.
