Reece Cole says his goal against Huddersfield Town is one of the best he has scored.

The Exeter City midfielder blasted an effort into the top corner from outside the box to make the score 1-1 as the two sides went on to draw 2-2 in League One.

It was the latest impressive strike from the 27-year-old, who has scored four times this season for the Grecians.

“It’s something I try and practise every day in training and I’d like to say is one of my stronger points in my game,” Cole told BBC Radio Devon.

“But it’s a brilliant pass from Ethan (Brierley) to find me and it allows me to then produce that kind of moment.

“It just popped up, I think there’s a little bit of frost on the pitch and it just bobbled up and luckily I hit it pure and it was a good goal.

“But two good goals today, Jayden (Wareham) comes late on in the game and scores a fantastic finish to earn us a point, so it was a positive day.”

Cole’s long-range goals have become a hallmark of his game since he first joined the club in the summer of 2023 from non-league side Hayes and Yeading.

The former Brentford youth player says he appreciates the support he gets from manager Gary Caldwell to try efforts from distance.

“He allows us to express ourselves in whatever our player profiles are.

“If you’re good at striking it from outside the box then he’s got no worries or issues with us doing that, so that’s the freedom we have in the final third.

“It’s something I try and do most games without hitting it out of the stand.”
