Art Week Exeter is back for 2025, bringing a vibrant explosion of creativity to venues across the city.
Now in its sixth edition, the bi-annual festival runs from 9 to15 June.
Art Week Exeter opens up access to contemporary and traditional art by celebrating what’s on in the city’s galleries and heritage spaces and bringing art into the community at venues including cafes, churches, artist open studios, empty shops and bars.
The week-long celebration features exhibitions and markets, pub quizzes and performances, artist films, artist talks and creative workshops – everything that the culturally curious could wish for right on their doorstep!
Art Week Exeter is for everyone, whether a seasoned aficionado or a curious newcomer.
Organised by Art Work Exeter, the seven-day festival AWE25 is part of June Boom in the city and is supported by Arts Council England through the lottery fund, and Exeter City Council.
Art Work Exeter said: “We’re really excited to be including venues and communities who are far out of the city centre – bringing them into the fold and encouraging art lovers to explore further afield!”
As well as visiting Exeter’s much-loved cultural venues, arts spaces and city centre pop-up’s, festival goers can use the festival website to check out the full programme and plan a visit to some of the exciting new venues across the city, from Heavitree to Stoke Hill, St Thomas to the Quayside, Crediton to Topsham.
The festival will also be running some super-friendly tours where people who don’t usually feel invited into galleries will be encouraged to ask questions, share thoughts, and explore what art really means in an open and welcoming space, along with some tea and biscuits.
