“The club signed a legally binding agreement with Hamilton Academical in 2022 to play home matches at New Douglas Park for a period of five years.
“Clyde FC has the right, stipulated in the agreement, to withdraw at the end of the current season, but Hamilton Academical has no equivalent right to terminate the agreement before it concludes in 2027.”
Clyde say they submitted “written confirmation to our hosts that we were continuing our tenancy at New Douglas Park” for next season in February.
“However, in spite of our best efforts, we have been unable to get clarity and assurance from Hamilton Academical that the agreement between the clubs will prevail beyond the current season,” they add.
“In fact, we have an informal indication of the contrary.”
Clyde stress that they did not want “an increasingly complex situation” to play out in public but felt the need to reassure their support “that every effort is being made on our part to resolve this impasse”.
The Bully Wee’s board have explored several avenues to find a permanent home back in Glasgow without success.
Meanwhile, the team are currently battling to avoid a relegation play-off in Scotland’s fourth tier but have moved up one place under current manager Darren Young after Ian McCall exited in October with his side sitting second bottom.
Hosts Hamilton also face possible relegation and lie second bottom of the Scottish Championship.
