Don’t miss your chance to vote in this year’s elections

There’s still time to register to vote in this year’s elections.

Anyone who wants to vote in the Devon County Council elections on Thursday 1 May, must ensure that they are on the electoral register.

There are no Exeter City Council elections this year because the City Council holds its elections in ‘thirds’, meaning there are no elections every fourth year.

For those who are not currently on the electoral register, there’s still plenty of time to register. The deadline for registrations is midnight on Friday 11 April.

It’s really simple to register, just go to the Gov.uk website at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. Those who are unsure if they are already on the register can contact the City Council directly at electoral.services@exeter.gov.uk or by calling 01392 265141.

People will also need to make sure they have appropriate photo ID if they are voting in person at a polling station. For a full list of accepted ID, visit the Gov.uk website at www.electoralcommission.org.uk/voting-and-elections/voter-id/accepted-forms-photo-id

Those who are unable or do not wish to vote at a polling station can opt for a postal vote. To do this, visit the Electoral Commission website at  https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/voting-and-elections/ways-vote/apply-vote-post

The deadline for postal vote applications is 5pm on Monday 14 April.
