Fairtrade was promoted at the recent Lord Mayor’s coffee morning at Exeter’s historic Guildhall.
Fairtrade mini Easter eggs were handed out as well as the new Fairtrade bookmarks and copies of a Fairtrade wordsearch were distributed on tables.
Around £120 of Fairtrade goods were sold at the Fairtrade stall.
The Fairtrade Foundation awarded Exeter Fairtrade city status in 2004.
This means that it is formally recognised as a city with strong support for Fairtrade by local residents, businesses, schools, faith communities and community groups.
A Fairtrade city steering group co-ordinates promotional activities in the city, with a particular focus on Fairtrade Fortnight.
