The relentless rock’n’roll rollercoaster that is Jim Jones All Stars release their new single Goin’ Higher alongside news of a new album. And there is no doubt that they are back with a bang with a big weekender in Brighton to celebrate the single release, so time to strap yourself in and get ready for the ride.

Having just completed a UK tour alongside The Wildhearts and Dirt Box Disco which packed out venues around the UK, Jim Jones All Stars are not about to let the grass grow under their feet in their relentless pursuit of the rock’n’roll holy grail. The All Stars now have news of a new album coming up later in the year with Chris Robinson on production duties, and a new single Goin’ Higher which is the first taster to emerge from the album and a song which has already been road tested on their recent tour.

Goin’ Higher is a feisty, no holds barred explosion of soul, garage and rock’n’roll all fused with the swagger, power and intensity which have now become a hallmark of the bands’ sound. It’s released on the Black Crowes label, Silver Arrow. And to celebrate this release the All Stars are hosting a “dirty weekend” at The Prince Albert in Brighton starting tonight (Friday) with the band playing each night from the 4th to 6th April. They also promise different opening bands each night, DJs, and will be showing films, so it’s an event not to miss! Tickets available here.

It’s worth noting that the song was recorded in Euston Hall which is the home of Red Rooster festival where the All Stars will be playing later this year alongside many other bands. As for this Hall as a studio environment, Jim had this to say “we were recording in Euston Hall built by King Charles the 2nd (known as the party king). It’s surprising that something that sounds so low down and dirty could be recorded in such an opulent/ swanky environment. It’s good to know that even in a palace we can capture the filth.”

The All Stars are also on tour in the UK this month with the following dates confirmed:

April
16 – Sheffield, Yellow Arch Studios
17 – York, The Crescent
18 – Newcastle, The Cluny
19 – London, Oslo (as part of Le Beat Bespoke Festival)
