Millwall charged by FA for homophobic Ben Chilwell chants at Crystal Palace

“The chant in question is condemned by Millwall Football Club and once again it strongly emphasises its zero-tolerance policy against discrimination of all kinds,” Millwall said in a statement., external

The FA said the chants in question happened in the fifth and 20th minutes of the match.

Millwall were also condemned by the FA for chants of “let him die” from some fans, aimed at Mateta while he was receiving treatment for his head injury.

The 27-year-old Frenchman required 25 stitches for a “severe laceration to his left ear”.
