MK Dons: Paul Warne named League Two club’s new head coach

MK Dons have appointed former Derby County and Rotherham United boss Paul Warne as their new head coach.

The 51-year-old, who has signed a “long-term contract” replaces Scott Lindsey at the League Two club after he was sacked last month.

Warne has won four promotions from League One, three with Rotherham and one in charge of the Rams last season, but he was relieved of his duties at Pride Park in February.

“The potential of the team under the ownership of Fahad [Al Ghanim] and the Board is truly limitless, and I’m extremely grateful to be given the opportunity to manage the side over the coming years,” Warne told the club website, external.

“This is an amazing project, and we’re so excited to drive it forward.”

He becomes the third permanent appointment at MK Dons this season after Mike Williamson left to join Carlisle United in September to be replaced by Lindsey.

Warne will be joined at the club by Richie Barker, who returns to Milton Keynes for a second stint as assistant head coach.
