A NATO Summit in The Hague?
NATO leaders including Keir Starmer should be in the city’s International Criminal Court – not lining up to kiss Trump’s ring!
The criminal ‘alliance’ is currently:
- managing the slaughter in Ukraine
- supporting Israel’s genocide in Gaza and war on Iran
- directing the new Cold War on China
- enforcing all members spending more and more on warfare not welfare
NATO, led by the USA, continues to be the main vehicle for imperialist interference and war across the planet. Since the destruction of the Soviet Union, NATO and its leading members have cut a bloody swathe across Europe and the Middle East and initiated brutal conflicts further afield. The millions of dead in the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria and Ukraine and across the world are testament to this fact. NATO’s crimes would shame all the devils in hell. NATO has never been an alliance aimed at common defence or ‘defence of democracy’.
We are told NATO was formed to protect against the ‘communist threat’ in Eastern Europe despite the fact that NATO was established more than 6 years before the Warsaw Pact. NATO has always been a first-strike nuclear alliance, prepared to initiate nuclear armageddon.
NATO has always been more than happy to side with dictatorial regimes. NATO has armed and funded the jihadist insurgencies, including the so-called Islamic State.
It was decades of NATO expansionism and their prompting of a fascist led coup in Ukraine that ultimately provoked Russia’s unjustified invasion, with tragic consequences for the people.
Their open aim is to maintain US hegemony by gaining an advantage in their imperialist rivalry with Putin’s Russia and more fundamentally to attack, undermine and isolate progressive governments, especially People’s China.
Britain’s ruling class, their new Labour Government and other the parties, are determined to keep our country slavishly chained to NATO and the whims of the USA. While we face poverty at home, we squander billions of pounds and young lives in the interests of big business.
NATO makes the world a more dangerous place and places Britain directly in the firing line. Real ‘patriots’ who cares about ‘defending our country’ should demand withdrawal and an end to Britain’s shameful lapdog status.
The Communist Party and the YCL stand as an unequivocal and principled force for peace, nuclear disarmament and withdrawal from NATO.
Communists call for a foreign policy which is based on peace, cooperation and international development, not war and extortion. This will only be possible outside of NATO and the web of US imperialism.
Destroy NATO before NATO destroys us!
