Plans for covered shelter at Devon football club given go-ahead

Plans for a covered standing area at a Devon town football club have been given the green light.

South Hams Council planning committee was unanimous in its support for Ivybridge Town FC’s plan to build a covered standing area for 100 people behind one of the goals at their ground at Erme Valley.

The site already has a small undercover seating area on the halfway line but the new construction would offer shelter for fans who would rather stand.

The club now plays in the Western League Premier Division and FA regulations mean there must be covered standing for 100 people.

The covered area would be 15m (49.2ft) long and 2m (6.5ft) high.
