Plymouth Argyle and Sheffield United have been charged with misconduct by the Football Association after a fracas following their Championship game on Saturday.
Players and coaching staff from both sides clashed in the aftermath of Argyle’s 2-1 win.
The hosts came back from a goal down to keep their survival hopes alive while denting the Blades’ automatic promotion hopes.
Both teams players and/or technical area staff are accused of behaving in an improper and/or provocative way in the tunnel area after the final whistle.
In the aftermath, Argyle head Miron Muslic said there was ‘nothing serious’ about the incident.
“I had a good conversation with (Sheffield United manager) Chris Wilder and also with the referees. I think everything is under control, the usual emotions for good and for bad, but nothing to mention,” he said.
Should Sheffield United be found guilty they could face a large fine – it is the sixth charge the club has faced this season in relation to player behaviour.
Their most recent indiscretion, after a 1-1 Championship draw against Bristol City in March, saw the club fined £120,000 having been fined £80,000 in January after admitting a similar charge following a 2-2 draw with Coventry City.
