A golf club in Devon said it had been left devastated after the loss of trophies during a break-in.
Devon and Cornwall Police were called at about 10:30 BST on Wednesday after a report of a burglary at Teignmouth Golf Club.
The golf club said officers arrived within 10 minutes of the alarms being triggered but the thieves had already fled the scene.
A Club spokesman said: “The whole club is devastated at the loss of these trophies, as they represent over 100 years of history as well as a sentimental value to many of the members.
“They are irreplaceable – we are desperate to get them back and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward”
Police said that an investigation was ongoing.
