UK based Brazilian punks Fantazmaz announce debut album

Fantazmaz, pictured, are a Brazilian punk band relocated to the UK, now joined by former UK Subs drummer Jamie Oliver.  Their debut self-titled album will be released July 4th on their own Ghetto Bitch Records and the ferocious thirty second single taken from it called ‘Dead On The Way Home’, is a cheeky little number.  Short and to the point it uses shock tactics to draw attention to the song content and reminds this writer of the short, loud, fast mid-late 80s punk years that eventually culminated in Electro Hippies and Napalm Death both recording one second songs.

The song was inspired by a news report from Brazil about a group of young people mistakenly shot dead on their way back from a night out. Frustration and anger led to the idea of a 30-second track repeating: “Got shot dead on their way home.”

For those wanting to catch them live, Fantazmaz are hitting Rebellion Festival and a string of dates across Europe before heading back to their homeland of Brazil.

A Plea From Louder Than War

Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.

To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
