Vulnerable people in Devon and Cornwall urged to get Covid-19 jab

The NHS is urging vulnerable people across Devon and Cornwall to book their spring Covid-19 vaccinations.

Eligible people include those aged 75 and over, older adults in care homes, and people with a weakened immune system.

NHS England in the South West said vaccinations were available at 482 community pharmacies across the region.

Bosses said eligible people would be contacted, but they could also book an appointment by visiting the NHS website, app or by calling 119.

Matthew Dominey, consultant in public health, screening and immunisation lead for NHS England in the South West, said they wanted to make it as “easy as possible” for people to protect themselves.

“A range of NHS teams including community pharmacies and GP practices are set up to deliver the vaccine, so you can get your jab close to home.”

He added that as well as booked appointments there were “thousands of walk-in appointments available every day”.
